WILL - ELIJAH BEALS
Deceased 20 Oct, 1847
In the name of God amen I Elijah Beals of Annapolis in the county of
Annapolis County and province of Nova Scotia, yeoman, being in good
health of body and of sound mind do make this my last Will and
Testament in manner fo???, I give and devise to my wife Hannah the use
of the north room and furniture for the same consisting of a bed and
bedding, with tables, chairs and dishes sufficient and a comfortable
living as long as she remains my widow.
I bequeath unto my sons Jacob Beals and Arod Beals all of the real
estate of which I am possesed or shall be possesed of hereafter
together with all my stock including horses, oxen, cows, young cattle,
sheep and hogs and the farming utentsils upon the following conditions
namely my debts and bequests are all to be honestly paid out of my
estate. I bequeath to my sons William Henry Beals, James Priestly
Beals and Cooper Beals six pounds each, unto my son John Beals I
bequeath fifteen pounds; unto my son Caleb Beals I bequeath thirty-five
pounds. I bequeath to my daughters Elizabeth Banks, Dorothy Beals
and Mary Ann Beals four pounde apiece togeather with all the household
furniture of every kind, excepting the clock [this appears to have been
added after the will was written], to be divided equally unto them at
any decease and the said bequests to be paid in cash or neat stock at
cash price on the twelfth day of May in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and fifty-two.
Lastly I do hereby appoint my wife Hannah and W. Henry Beals and John
H. G. Banks to be my executors of this my last will and testament in
witness whereof I have herewith set my hand and seal this
Twenty-seventh day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand, eight
hundred and forty-six.
