In 1889 Charles H. Farnam published a voluminous book entitled "History of the Descendants of John Whitman of Weymouth, Mass."  In 1972 Charles B. Whitman, Weston, Ont., published "The Annapolis Valley Whitmans" which was a continuation of the family history in the Farnam book.  These two books were used to compile this genealogy.
